Little Lumpy Cycling Sportive - Terms & Conditions
Participants will be required to confirm their acceptance of the following terms and
conditions during registration
Terms and Conditions of entry:
- Participants will be responsible for the roadworthiness of their own cycle.
- Riders partake in this event entirely at their own risk and must rely on their
own
ability in dealing with hazards.
- No accompanying vehicles are allowed to follow riders. Any participant failing
to
observe this regulation will be withdrawn from the event.
- This event is not a race or trial of speed, but a personal challenge and as such
there
will be no list published which sorts riders either in finishing time or
finishing
position order. An alphabetical list of finishers and times will be published.
- As the event takes place on the open road riders must abide by the Highway Code
at all
times. The function of marshals is only to indicate direction and not that it is
safe to
proceed. Riders must make their own assessment as to whether the movement is
safe.
- Riders are on a private excursion on a public highway and the organisers take no
responsibility for their conduct.
- For insurance purposes, all cyclists must wear a hard shell helmet.
- All participants under the age of 18 shall have had a consent form completed by
their
parent/guardian. A parent or guardian must accompany riders under the age of 16.
- The use of triathlon bars is not permitted.
- Riders should be competent cyclists accustomed to riding safely in the company
of
others.
- All participants agree to abide by the British Cycling regulations that are
relevant to
Non Competitive Cycling events.
- No liability whatsoever shall attach to the promoter, promoting organisation,
event
sponsor, British Cycling or any event official or member of British Cycling or
member of
the promoting organisation in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by
the
rider in or by reason of the event, unless such injury, loss or damage is proven
to be
caused by the negligence of the aforementioned.
Riders should:
- Have their own personal accident and third party insurance.
- Be self-sufficient and in particular be competent and equipped to deal with
punctures and mechanical failures.
- Wear adequate clothing and be suitably equipped to deal with adverse weather
conditions.
- Obey the instructions of all the event’s officials.
- Where possible keep to the left, not ride more than two abreast, stop at
junctions, be careful when crossing main roads and exercise caution when
descending steep hills.
- Make sure their brakes are in top condition.
Refund policy:
Applications are strictly personal, firm and binding and fees shall not
be refunded for any reason. Applications can, under no circumstances, be
transferred to another person, whatever the reasons.
